Growing up, my mother had a friend named Olive. She was from Ireland. I never gave the name much thought other than, "No one here in the U.S. would use that name."
Then I saw the movie "Little Miss Sunshine" and fell in love with the name. OK, Abigail Breslin had a little to do with it. But really, what little Olive wouldn't be adorable? It's certainly a name that will age gracefully.
The only down side that I see is people thinking your name is Olivia. That would get old. But it's not a deal breaker. I say go for it.
