[Opinions] Gerda is pronounced as YAIRR-da
Since the G is before a soft vowel, it is pronounced with a J-sound. And J is pronound as Y in Scandinavian languages. To me, Gerda is an "old lady" name. But it may get popular in Sweden again, like other old names as Elsa and Greta. But outside Scandinavia, I fear the pronounciation would be butchered."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)
