[Opinions] Magnus
I don't know if it's just a crush, but I really love this name at the moment.
If I had a son, I would want to use my father's name and a very good friend's name as middle names. I'm still not sure whether to use both on one child, or hope I have another boy to use the other one... anyway.
What do you think of
Magnus Peter James?
Any suggestions (using one or the other and other names?)

I've always found Magnus interesting and pleasant, and with Peter James you've got a winner. I also like Angus and Fergus, though not Marcus for some reason. Two mns are fine: no need to hold back. There are more good names out there than you can possibly use!
It is a little "Magnus Magnusson" for me, just a touch too much big, blond Scandinavian strongman. A friend of mine has a son Max with a very Finnish surname; he wanted to name him Magnus but his wife wouldn't have it. :-D So Max was the compromise.
I just have a hard time moving past that strongman image. That's what my friend loved about it. He's a weightlifter with, like, thighs that don't fit into conventional pants. o_O It's manly, ueber-manly, almost exaggeratedly manly.
If if was someone else's favorite I could like it. It won't be my favorite, I don't think. Although it would tickle me to see a baby with a "big man name," kind of like how it can be funny to see a baby with an "old man name." :-)
It's a nice combo. I think James is kind of boring and it drags it down, but it doesn't make it unbearable. Magnus Peter would be awesome on its own. Off the top of my head I also like Magnus Lawrence, Magnus Richard and Magnus Rainer.

I love Magnus! I think Magnus Peter James is awesome and I'm too lazy to come up with another combo :)
