[Opinions] Pray, do offer something of superiority (a simple yawn suffices not)

My problem is that names are trying to seem superior.I think in the end we're going to have to agree to disagree, though.Alice Madeleine
Charlotte Virginie
Marguerite Elisabeth
Eleonore SuzanneThese are all just...too perfect. They don't seem to have any life, any meaning, any breath. They're names you'd see in a Jane Austen novel, a classy romance novel. They just seem lacking to me.

Jane AustenI always enjoy her work, and thank you for the compliment. I often picture myself in that type of environment, and I am sure my naming style reflects that. Also, the names above, while they may seem ostentatious to you, they would work well in the reason in which I live (Northern Virginia). They are perfectly normal, fresh and practical through my perspective. Also, Charlotte and Alice honor my two grandmothers, and Suzanne honors my mother. Marguerite honors my step-grandmother and Eleonore is the cognate of my current favorite name, Eleanor. All have personal significance.

Also being a Jane Austen fan from N. Va, I can see where you are coming from. I'm very fond of English classic names...Agatha, Margaret, Mary, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Alice, Georgiana...there's nothing wrong with perfection. I don't like Virginie and Suzanne as much, but that's only because I prefer the more English Virginia and Susannah. Also, if Eleanor is your favorite name (one of my all-time faves as well), why would you spell it differently? Are you going for a French look?

FrenchYes, his "theme" for this game was a French sibset. It was Vigdis who brought up Jane Austen romances :)
