I don't like Calvin. (I don't like Dylan, either, though.) I agree it should be up to the parents and no one else should insist on anything. Hopefully she'll be able to play nice and show respect by using it as a mn.

It could always be a future child's mn. They have names planned already, so they shouldn't be pressured into changing one of them just because someone in the family died.

True--I'd hate to be told what to name my child if I was already set on something. I'd probably cry a lot if I didn't like the name, go ahead and change it, and then be irritated with my husband's family for a really long time.

I have an attitude issue, haha. So I wouldn't have changed it and I'd have just told them to kiss my ass. That would go for my husband too. He should know better than to try to force her to change it. They can use it later. And if not, does it really really matter? You don't HAVE to name a baby after the grandpa.
