Olivia has a girl called Elysia in her kindy class. She ALWAYS goes by Ely so I had no idea until recently it was actualy Elysia and I hadn't had a chance to look it up. Gorgeous meaning. I really like it.

I think it's beautiful. I'd be worried that it might be confused with Alyssa or Alicia because it's unusual yet close enough to common names to cause a bit of confusion. I'm sure people would eventually catch on though.

I love the name Elysia. It's so beautiful and sounds so exotic. I know a girl named Elysia and when i first saw the spelling of her name i immediateley fell in love with it. Elysia herself is quite an interesting person.

I prefer Alicia.

It's pretty. I prefer it to Alicia or Elyse.

Elysia is a pretty name but there's something about the sound that I don't really like. It has a lovely meaning though and I would love to meet a little Elysia. Elysian on the other hand, I like. I think I'm adding that one to my gp list.

I've given Elysia some thought before and I love it. Like you, my only reservation is that people would assume it's a variant of Alicia or even think it's Alicia if they didn't see it written down. I pronounce it with the 'leez' sound and I wonder if the pronunciation would be problematic. I've known people with far less complex names that others just can't seem to get right for some reason. For example, I know a girl named Elissa and you'd be surprised the number of people who get that wrong (Alicia, Alyssa, Elise, etc.).

But I love Elysia's meaning and it's so much better than other heaven names, that's for sure. For me, it's a win because I love Eliana but could never use it (I'm Elena with a dd named Anna). Elysia has the same feel for me.

What Elysia combos have you considered?

I like Élysée better; I'm not a huge fan of Alicia/Alissa/Alyssa/Elissa etc. and Elysia does remind me of those a great deal.
