DeeDee is a bit of a stretch but could work for Eden. So maybe could Dena. The names are both nice, but Eden feels much fresher and spunkier. I'm getting a bit bored with Evangelne. Evie or Line are the obvious nns for Evangeline.
To be honest, I think it's a bit silly not to use the name you prefer because of a nickname issue, but then I don't get why people make such a big deal about nns, maybe for cultural reasons.

well the problem is I don't prefer either name, I like them both equally for different reasons...I'm trying to find a definite reason to chose one or the other

I know you've probably thought of this but I have to throw out there that I would think myself lucky to be stuck between 2-3 names before the baby got there, so I could see which "fit."
