Three years later
I can hardly believe it's been three years since we adopted Jonathan, Isabella, and Catia! They have gone by so quickly, and I can't believe how fast the kids are growing!
Jonathan had the hardest time adjusting to his new family. He missed his birth parents and his friends and wasn't used to having an older sister. He and Lily came into conflict some, but in the end she was the one who helped him feel like a real part of the family. It took several months, but he finally began to see himself as our son. Now eight years old, he has grown into a tall, fun-loving, and active little boy. He took up the family love for swimming, and he still loves to skate whenever he can. He likes school, especially art, and he has shown a lot of talent, especially with painting.
Isabella, or Belle as she now insists on being called, had a much easier time that Jonathan did adjusting to the adoption. She was barely three at the time, and it didn't take very long for her to see us as her parents. She and Catia are very close. Both are bouncy, active little girls who love dolls and swings and drawing. Belle has recently joined ballet to be like her big sister. She looks up to Lily quite a lot, and Lily tries to be a good role model for her. Chris is teaching all the kids to speak Italian, but Belle seems to have taken to it the best. She loves school too and has a lot of friends.
Catia is Belle's partner in crime. The two are extremely close. Catia was very upset when Belle went to school and she couldn't and she was very happy this year when she got to go too.
