I love Barney

It's so friendly and simple sounding. And I like barns. I don't think I would use Barney as the full name, but I always thought Barney as a nn for the more stuffy Barnaby / Barnabas, or even Bartholomew could be pretty cute.

I've never minded the name, though I wouldn't use it.

Although I love Barnabas and Barnaby, I'm not that fond of Barney.

I know a Barny - short for Barnaby. It's okay as a nickname, but I'm not wild about it as a full name.

I don't like it. It makes me think of the dinosaur.

Urgh, it just reminds me of the purple dinosaur, the drunkard in the Simpsons and the word "barn".

I don't like it. I think of purple dinosaurs, Barney Rubble and Barney from the Simpsons. I do like Barnabas though.

It's grown on me because of How I Met Your Mother, but I wouldn't use it. I don't think I've ever met a Barney before.

I kind of like Barnabas, but I don't care for Barney at all. Barney is a bit too dorky for me.

Makes me think of "How I met your mother". I don't like it. But I like Barnaby and Barnabas.

Makes me think of Barney Fife. :/

I think it is unattractive and reminds me of a big ol' barn. Not so good.

All I can think of is Barney Rubble. I think it's comical and dorky. I've never known anyone named Barney.

I wouldn't use it, at least not as a full name. I kinda like Barnabas, maybe Barnaby. He could still be called Barney in the family and I think there'd be much less teasing in the school yard.

My dad used to tease me about him...I bet he still would.
Please don't name your child Barney! Not only is the dinosaur scary, but kids will tease him for the association!
What about Barnaby or Barnabus? It's better to have the full version.
