[Opinions] Sidney (m)?
I have become really attached to this name recently. What do you think? Is it too dated? Do you prefer Sydney? Do you prefer it on a girl? How out there would it be in your area?Combo ideas?

The only Sydney I know is a girl in first grade. It isn't common, but I don't think it's 'out there' either.

It's a GP of mine. I don't love it, but I like it and it made it onto my PNL somehow. I think it would be accepted pretty well in my area (northeastern USA), where there's kind of a Victorian revival thing going, but I'm sure if I used it, which I wouldn't anyway, I'd never hear the end of it from my dad. I don't like it on a girl.

I like Sidney Casper and Sidney Gabriel from your list. I kind of like some of the others, but I don't like a classic name for a mn for Sidney, for whatever reason. I think it needs something with a bit more spunk to keep up with Sidney.

No, not a fan at all, on anyone, boy or girl. I'm sorry. I'm from Australia, and just-no.

I have never met a male Sidney. I've met a few little girls named Sydney so maybe it's making a comeback?I think it's an okay name but it does have a feminine feel to me... but that may be because I have only met little girls with the name. I dont think it's really "out there", I think it's a name alot of people are familiar with.

I definitely prefer Sidney on a boy to Sydney on a girl, which I find to be in bad taste.
