The name "Tenea" may come from the Greek village of the same name, near Corinth. Tenea is renowned mainly for its connections with ancient scultures.
Our resident Greek zany, Dr. Ing. Priapos C. Lovs (D.Lit.,Oxon), should be back from his body-piercing trip to Crete within the next day or so and may be able to give a meaning for Tenea and also indicate whether it's encountered normally as a personal name in Greece. The guy knows his stuff! Stay tuned...

Hey call this funny...but my name is TENEA....I want to find out all that I can about this name...its so hard to find anything because many of the sites are in a language of russian or greek or some other language. I was told by my father that it was Latin for Priceless i believe...but it seems I am finding more of Greek.

Cretan body-piercing, an ancient extreme sport once practiced by minotaurs, may have been holistic but its certainly not my cup of mountain camomile:P
During the weekend I was snowed-in somewhere in the arcadian mountains :) On our way we passed by the town of Tenea. Gotta visit it sometime. By the way, I am not of Tenea used as a first name in either classical or contemporary Greece.
