Carolina is a lovely name. I used to go to school with a Carolina (Caro-lee-nah), and I don't think she had very many problems with it. I also encountered another Carolina who pronounced her name the same way. Both lived in the U.S. Caro-lee-nah isn't that complicated, so I think that a lot of people catch on pretty quickly in the U.S, although I'm sure a lot of people assume the "line" pronunciation at first.

Marisol is a pretty name, and in theory, I like Valentina, but it's a bit too frilly for me.

I love all of them. In spite of being American, I also prefer your preferred pronunciation of Carolina. It's very pretty. Carolina is the only one I would really consider using, but I have reservations about it because of the way I prefer it pronounced.

I like Marisol and Valentina, less so Carolina but it's still an ok name.

I love Marisol but I don't pronounce it the Spanish way. For me it rhymes with parasol. I like that it's a Marian name and also Sea and Sun.
Carolina is lovely both ways and if you aren't in America it's much more likely that you'll get the pronunciation you like.
I don't like Valentina at all though. It's too romantic or too forced for me.

I adore Carolina -- actually, better than Caroline (my dd's mn). Where I live (Virginia), the 'EE-na' pronunciation would never fly, however, I've discovered the more uncommon a name is, the more a person can get away with the correct pronunciation. In other words, it's more difficult to undo an incorrect pronunciation than to learn the correct one.

Valentina has really grown on me although it still has too much baggage for me to personally use. I've noticed more celebs using it so it has become more mainstream. I hope it won't become too common.

I like Carolina, and I don't think pronunciation would be a problem (If I remember correctly you're in Australia too??) at all. We don't have North and South Carolina here so theres no real precedent when it comes to prounciation.

Marisol has a lovely feel to it - it reminds me straight away of parasol (sp?) which I think is a darling connotation. It has a really cute retro vibe.

I do like Valentina, however I hate the 'Val' part, and the potential nn of Val. Valentia Marisol also makes a nice combo.

Marisol –not a fan, sol is salt in Croatian
Carolina –for your pronunciation I prefer Karolina, nice name, have a friend named Karolina
Valentina –love it, it’s a bit dated here, but I’d still use it. I however hate Tina so that’s a drawback for me.
