Mneme is pronounced NEE-mee.
Melpomene is pronounced mel-po-MEE-ne.WDYT?

Mneme is really cute. It has a magical feel to it that makes me think of fairies and fairytales.Melpomene is another story. The emphasis on MEE-nee makes the name completely unusable to me. Meanie is not a word I want to hear in a name. :)

Mneme sounds a little too cutesy for me.
Melpomene has some personal significance to me, so I'm inclined to like it. It's somehow sophisticated yet energetic, and it's very orange. I learned it was pronounced mel-POM-en-ee. I'm not sure which is actually correct, but I like my pronunciation better. It's much more elegant and flowy.

Oh, I like your pronunciation of the name Melpomene. The other way completely ruins the name for me because I hear the word 'meanie'. mel-POM-en-ee makes the name much more elegant.
