I love
Daphne, and especially as a first name. Sweet and shy isn't really what comes to mind when I think of
Daphne; I find it more of an outgoing name. It's bright and spunky and smart. I think "fresh" is a really good way to describe
Daphne, too. It reminds me of spring.
I hardly even think of Scooby-Doo anymore when I hear
Daphne (in fact, it took your mentioning Scooby-Doo to remind me of the association). For me, the connection is more "oh hey there was a character named that in Scooby-Doo, wasn't there?" than "oh you mean like the Scooby-Doo character,
Daphne was in Scooby-Doo!" The connection is incidental rather than defining.
