[Opinions] Margie
What do you think of Margie as a nickname for Margaret? Too dated?
I'm not crazy about it, because it makes me think of margarine, but I was wondering what everyone else thinks.

Dated and quite unnattractive to me, but then I feel exactly the same way about the name Margaret.
I prefer Meg (from Little Women), Maggie or even Mary. Margie just sounds too clumsy.
Too Simpson-y. Also very dated.
It is dated, but for me it's got a kind of Roaring Twenties fun feeling about it, probably because of the 1920s song 'Margie' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDwUJnMfZHQ). I wouldn't use it, but I don't dislike it at all.
I think it's alright. I don't dislike it, but it's not one I'd probably use. It's pretty cutesy. The only person I've ever known who used Margie as a nn was the little sister of a girl I went to elementary school with.
I don't care for Margie. It reminds me of margarine as well. I prefer Margo and Maggie as nicknames for Margaret.
I don't really like Margie. Marjorie I do like for some reason, but not Margie. And I don't really think Margie fits with Margaret. I think Meggie would be a better nickname, and it does have the association to the main character of Inkheart, which to me is a good thing.
Meh... it is boring and moldy-sounding.
Ditto
Plus it makes me think of the phrase "large Marge." I don't like it at all.
