[Opinions] Melisande and Melisenda
I'm really liking these at the moment, I'm realizing I really like Medieval girls' names. I like how this name is unusual yet traditional, plus Melisande was a queen of Jerusalem during the crusade period http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melisende_of_Jerusalem and I have a soft spot for strong, enpowered women. The form I prefer is Melisande in this spelling, though for lingusitic reasons it would make more sense for me to use Melisenda (I don't care much for Millicent). I wonder if the name isn't too pretentious to be use and might sound silly in daily life. It would probably require a nickname for a child (Melisa perhaps?). I doubt it would pass Chloe's supermarked test.Any thoughts?

Melidande..beautiful name. I've missed the supermarket test; is it the way the name would sound over the store loud-speaker.."Melisande, please come to the front to cash! Melisande!"?nick-names..maybe Sandy?

It's very pretty, but I doubt you'd ever get anyone to use the full version and she'd just end up as Mel or a similar variant.

Melisande is the prettier version of the name. It is a bit much for a child, so I recommend calling her Melisa, Mel, or Millie.

I think Melisande is very beautiful. Not sure about Melisenda though.

I'm not such a fan of Melisenda, i just don't feel it is as prettyMelisa is a good nickname, though i feel it could stand on it's own, other nickname's could be Mel or Lissa, Lissy but i personally like Melisa the best
