The short version:
Toby and Tessa were acquaintances in college. A pre-law student by day and model by night, Toby had a knack for art and never went anywhere without his Polaroid. After college their careers frequently drove them in different directions, trying all the while to maintain their relationship. They decided to relocate so they would have more options, meaning traveling less. Just before the made their big move they were married and are now looking forward to all the opportunities the big city holds for them.
Medium length version:
Tessa and Toby met their freshman year at Boston College when she was contracted to do publicity for the school play. She didn't think much of him, awkward and boring, then, but at her senior show four years later they met again. After an embarrassing introduction, he asked to dinner and she obliged. One dinner led to two, two led to a movie and a movie led to many, many cups of coffee. Before they knew it most of their evenings were spent in each others presence.
As they spent more time together it became obvious that they were meant for each other. Tessa had just earned her degree in photography while Toby had put himself through school by doing modeling. A pre-law major, he had originally wanted to major in theatre or art, but his parents had decided that those were to "frivolous" and that he should do something that he would be able to actually earn money at someday. Being the good son he obeyed, demoting his loves mere hobbies. Still to this day he never goes anywhere with out his trusty Polaroid. His apartment is full of pictures of the most random things, things most people never stop to see the beauty in. As he applied at various law schools Tessa convinced him that perhaps he didn't need to settle down and have a real job, but take sometime to explore what he really loves. And taking a big step of faith, he did.
For the next year Tessa worked freelance, following odd jobs all over the country, sometimes for weeks at a time. Toby continued doing modeling work doing the same. They hated that their jobs frequently took them so far away from each other and, of course, never on the same time frame. After a year he had had enough. Boston wasn't the place for them anymore, they needed somewhere they could both do their work but stay put. New York City had a certain ring to it. But their was one more big decision to make, and just before their move, Toby popped the question.
Their wedding was an affair to be remembered. They held it in a beautiful garden. The night sky made the perfect backdrop for them as they shared their vows under a celing of sparkling lights. At the reception the showed their moves on the dance floor and enjoyed their time with their family and closest friends. Now it's off to the city now for the newlyweds to start on their next big adventure...
The long version:
Well, I won't put you through that. It's about 2500 words ;)
Your eyes, your smile, made my little life worthwhile. The sky was a lot more blue when I was on top of you.
