[Opinions] Sophia
Yes, I know it's popular, but I'm really loving it now. WDYT? Do you think a girl named Sophia would have a dated name later in life, or would it be considered more of a classic? What do you think of the NN Sophie? Thank you in advance!

I think Sophia is a lovely name and feel that it works just as well for a baby as it does for an elderly woman. I don't see why it would feel dated later, as it's a name that seems to be around frequently. I don't like Sophie as a nn for Sophia, as I see both names as separate, individual names.

I love Sophia, but I sadly can't use it. I think it is a classic. I like Sophia with no nicknames. I like Sophie, but I prefer it as a full name in its own right.

I have an 8 year old daughter who is called Sofia Eve. I love the name, and believe it to be more of a classic. I think of Sophia Loren who is what? In her 70's? I think it works just as well on her as it does my 8 year old.
As for NN, I really didnt want my daughter being called Soph or Sophie, I dont much like NN at all, but I just felt it took away from the name Sofia, and if people were going to call her that, I might as well have named her Sophie.
She gets called Fia or Fi all the time, that is the NN that will stay with her for life and I like it, even though it was'nt intended.

I much prefer Sophie by itself but Sophia is okay. I don't think I'd ever consider it dated. It's more classic than anything.

It has always sounded bratty to me.It's fine. I don't think it will sound very dated... especially with all the cre8ive spellings now. (spell check didn't mind "cre8ive"! Wow!)

Sophia and Sophie are fine, I like them both. Sophia hasn't been very common in English-speaking countries for the last sixty-odd years and now it's having a massive surge of popularity, so it might well be a name associated with the 2000s/2010s in the future. That doesn't stop it being a nice name with a lot of history, though.

I quite like it actually, and the nn Sophie is cute. To me, its high popularity isn't a bad thing, even so, I'm sure it will die down in popularity.

I don't think that it would be necessarily 'dated' as it is a classic name. Any Sophia born today though could expect to be one of many in her class. My preffered spelling is Sofia with the nn Sofie. :)

I don't think Sophia will be considered dated at any time. It will be either boring or classic I think. I don't really like Sophia, but perhaps it's its popularity that puts me off it. I like Sophie, and I actually think Sophie is better than Sophia itself. (Although I prefer Sofia or Sofie over both)

I don't like it at all. I never have, and I doubt I ever will. HOWEVER, I don't think it will be dated. I think it would be more classic.I love Sophie, but as I just said, I hate Sophia.
