I love Tarquin, but I don't think I'd have the guts to use it as a first name myself. (I'm very wary of boys' names sounding "poncy", and since I hate "safe" popular names as well, there's really no pleasing me lol.)
I think Jonah would complement it better than Jonas. Tarquin Jonah would be a lovely combo, or Jonah Tarquin :-)
