[Opinions] Re: WDYT of Helena
in reply to a message by Elli
Yeah, I myself like Helena a lot more than Helen.
Helena's very Victorian, but I can see it on a young girl, much more so than Helen.
Helena Jane
Helena Elizabeth
Helena Mary
Helena Frances
Helena Alexandra
Helena Thomasina
Helena RebeccaA nickname might be Lena...but I just think it should be Helena w/o a nickname. You know, there's a town in Alabama named Helena, named after one of my relatives. I can't remember if her name was Helen or Helena, probably the latter because my family had some rather interesting names for girls sometimes...another one was Parthenia.

Helena, AL...
It's several hours from where I live, but I've heard the history before. It was named after Helen Lee, who was the girlfriend of a railroad engineer (whose name I really can't remember!).

Oh, thanks! I think Helen Lee is maybe my great-great-great-aunt? Or rather, my great-grandfathers? Anyway, I'm related...the Alabama Lees are one of my families.
