It's different, but I don't think I would name a child Lyric. I'm a singer and I love musisc, and if I ever gave my child a musical name it would be Melody, nn Mel.

I love it- I know I may be in a majority (I haven't read the other posts yet), but I have always loved this on a girl.

I really like the name a lot although I would never use it.. I think it is one of those names where the child has to live up to expectations to match their name... other examples:

Precious
Temple
Declan... to name a few

Hmmmm... as much as I ADORE and advocate music, I like the idea of the name, but I don't think I could use it. I'd use Harmony as a middle name... You could alter "Lyric", and make it "Lyrica." Yeah, that's kind of a neat lil twist!

I love it, though I feel it would be a little corny if I gave it to a child, since I plan on going into music for a career. But maybe as a middle name or something.

I think that it sounds pretty, but I don't think that I could ever name a child Lyric.

Lyric is not a name to me, so on a child it would be ridiculous. Moreover the sound isn't pretty at all. Just my opinion. :)

Lyric is one of those names I like in theory. I think it sounds pretty and has a nice meaning but I don't think I personally would use it on a child. I feel like I should be much more musically talented if I give a child such a musical name.

It's okay, it's not really my style.

I think it's a cute name, but I wouldn't have the guts to name my baby Lyric. :-) Actually, it's an interesting-sounding name...
