King Robert has had a son and a daughter in the past five years. They join Crown Prince Octavian and Princess Alice.

It has been a tumultuous five years for the kingdom of Esterfield. King Robert and Queen Aurelia were shocked to find out that they were going to have another baby, just two years after Princess Alice's birth. Everything looked to be going well, until the child was born. Queen Aurelia suffered massive hemorraghing and passed away before she even found out that she had given birth to a healthy baby girl. King Robert was devastated by the news of his wife's death, but tried not to let it affect his rule. Shortly after Princess Beth's birth, the court was pressing for the King to remarry. After all, he was still young--and getting a wife could strengthen diplomatic relations. After eight months of badgering, King Robert finally chose a younger wife from the land of Galden.
Queen Amelie is indeed very beautiful, though she does not have the mind for ruling that Queen Aurelia possessed. For close to two years after his marriage, King Robert stayed away from his palace as much as possible. He really had no desire to marry again, and every time he looked at the new queen, images of his first wife flooded his head. Eventually though, he returned home and Queen Amelie was able to make him forget about Aurelia for a time. Just recently, she gave birth to a healthy son, Henrik. King Robert has resolved to treat all of his children the same and try to avoid the jealous feuds that often occur within kingdoms when Kings remarry and have children from different wives.
