[Games] Re: Squint's Royal Congrats -- Round 2
King: Oliver Lucius Karl Augustus Konstantin “The Gentle” (20)
Queen: Oriana Seraphina Josephine Regina (19)Crown Prince: Sebastian Alberich Joachim Basil Xaver “Bastian” (3)
Princess: Elizabeth Beatrix Charlotte Oriana Elodie "Lys" (nb)Royal House: Isley
Kingdom: Eriden
Queen Oriana was a very hands on mother, and refused to let the nanny's take over with little Bastian. King Oliver sided with his beloved, and Oriana toted Bastian around with her almost everywhere she went! This greatly pleased the common folk, who felt that this showed the great heart that their new rulers had. However, when Oriana became pregnant again, complications quickly developed. After unexplained, heavy bleeding occurred on and off in the fifth month, the doctors couldn't be sure if the infant would survive, and if the infant did survive, they weren't sure what effects the bleeding might have had on the developing baby. Oriana was placed on strict bed-rest, and Bastian had to, finally, go into the care of his nanny.During the seventh month, Oriana started premature labor. Oliver was frantic with worry, as the doctors weren't sure if they would be able to save either Oriana or the baby at this point. Oliver and Bastian spent the night in the chapel praying. When morning came, a golden lark flew into the chapel and landed on the alter. Oliver scooped up the sleeping Bastian and ran up the the Queen's room. The doctors had just finished, labor was stopped... the Queen was okay and the baby was still moving. Everybody was now waiting to find out what would happen next...For six more weeks, everybody waited with bated breath. And then, at exactly 8½ months, Queen Oriana went into labor again. Labor was a quick four hours, but a lot of blood was lost. The baby princess was born strong, but Oriana slipped unconscious. She stayed in the state for a day and half. After that, she could really only be consider "semi-conscious", as she barely had enough energy to do more then swallow the food and drink given to her and attend to her bodily functions...For the next two weeks, baby Lys (Oriana and Oliver had agreed on Elizabeth for a girl and Lysander for a boy) breast fed with a semi-conscious mother. Princess Lys' nanny shared the people's belief that Queen Oriana's devotion to her children made her a much better queen to all, and did all she could to help facilitate the bonding between mother and daughter.By the time the baby was due, Queen Oriana had regained some of her lost strength. She could take very short walks, and was able to do much of the care taking of herself and the princess. Bastian, however (and much to Oriana's dislike), was still under his nanny's supervision for now...The doctors have told the King and Queen that if she were to attempt to have another baby, the results would be fatal. Oliver has ordered them to prepare medicines to help prevent pregnancy when the time comes necessary. Oriana is saddened, but not surprised. Her own mother suffered similar complications and died giving birth to her little sister, who also died before she turned one.The people are satisfied. They know that their rulers have secured the succession with a heir in prince Sebastian, and have given their all to attempt to have more children. Princess Lys is tentatively promised to Lord Crispian, a distant cousin who is also considered "in line" for the throne - he's 4 years-old. This tentative arrangement is counted a second contingency against any unforeseen problems.Oliver has spent much of the last 3 years attempting to find out who sent the assassins that killed his king and his family. At this point, he knows that there is a deep and secret plot afoot, and that part of it exists here at his own court! However, the root of the problem has a foreign mastermind. Oliver doesn't know who, where, or even why at this point. He's got some pieces, but nothing is fitting together yet...Currently, Oliver is working on figuring out who in his court works for this foreign mastermind. So far, he's got a few suspects but nothing concrete enough to allow him to move beyond watching. Oliver is hoping that his smokescreen of complete befuddlement will help somebody to drop their guard and make a crucial mistake...
