I think that may have been a coincidence seeing as both kids have second mns with different initials (Hermes Gustaf Daniel and Helena Grace Rutherford). If she was trying to be themey I am sure she would have kept to it

Maybe, but it looks like the 2nd MN honors in both instances [her maiden name, and her husband's name], while I don't think the first two names do.
