[Opinions] Neat twin set
I was just reading an essay on the Huffington post by a father of twin girls. Their names are...Rose Austin
Evan Heart(Again, they're both girls). WDYT? I think Rose Austin is pretty awesome. Evan--I despise it on a boy, but I like the sound enough on a girl. But then it reminds me of Evan Rachel Wood, and she seems kind of lame. Heart is lovely in the mn spot. What I like most about this sibset is the balance of names. Both get a word name, but one is common and in the fn spot and one is uncommon and in the mn spot. And they both get one unisex name.

I dislike it.Rose is nice, though plain. Heart is not that great, kind of silly, but at least it's in the mn spot.Austin is a place name and masculine. Evan is also masculine. Neither are unisex.

I don't like Austin. It kind ruins Rose. At least its only the mn, but still, Rose deserves a better mn. Rose does not fit with Evan on a girl at all.

Rose and Evan would be nice if it were a G/B twinset. I find Austin and Evan too masculine for girls and I don't care for Heart at all. It would make me feel better if I knew Austin and Heart were family surnames, but even then I dislike them. Oh well, at least they are spelled correctly and not Rose Austyn and Evyn Heart.

I really like Heart as a middle name, although I would use it for a boy rather than a girl.

I missed the partwhere Austin and Evan are unisex names. :PTo me they're both all male.Had I encountered this set on my own, I would misidentify the sex of the second child based on the fn. Also, I would usually assume Austin on a girl to be a familial surname used as a mn, though given the other details that may not be the case here.Apart from all of that, though, I do see your point about balance, word names, common, uncommon, unisex, and I agree in theory that those characteristics are well used here. All four of these names are actually on my PNL right now. I just don't like these specific names being used in this specific way.

Meh. Rose bores the cr*p out of me. Austin looks male, and so does Evan. Still it's better than Paul and Paula or something along those lines.

I don't like seeing boy's names on girls, but both names fit well together and have a neat sort of modern organic feel.

I really dislike Evan on a girl. I don't like Heart or Austin either. Love Rose as a first name though. :)
