[Opinions] Hattie...WDYT?
I've been thinking of Hattie today. My father's maternal grandmother was named Hattie (her given name not just a nn), and apparently she was a big influence on his life. She passed before I was born. Anyway, to the point, I think it could be a sweet little nickname, but is just too insubstancial to stand alone. WDYT? Also, what all could it be a nickname for? Thanks!

It's cute. It could be a nickname for Harriet...that's all I can think of right now.

I really like this name actually...an oldie, but a goodie. I also love that you want to honor a family member. I agree, Harriet or Henrietta/Henriette is probably the best way to go. Hester could probably work too, although I don't find it as charming as the other 2.

I adore HattieAs a nn for Harriette or Harriet (I prefer the former but I like both)I could happily have a daughter named Harriette nn Hattie :-)

So cute! I like it on it's own or as a nickname. The only fullname that really comes to mind is Harriet. Maybe Henrietta could work too though.

I love Hattie! I could easily name my daughter Harriet nn Hattie. I think it's absolutely charming, although I'd probably use Harriet as a fn just so a Hattie had something to fall back on. Hattie is lovely but not particularly formal. I guess Henrietta nn Hattie could work as well, but I feel it's more of a stretch.

I think Hattie would be an adorable name on its own personally. I think I am one of the very few people that thinks names like Annie, Hattie, Betty and Minnie can be names on their own. Hattie Mae is a lovely combo by the way

Love itHarriet nickname or if be, by itself. Scores of women bore these types of nicknamey names without any undue burden. It's nice to have options though which is why my preference is Harriet first. I find Harriet more adorable than Hattie so there you go :)

I love it as a nn for Harriet (which I also love). Could also work for Hester, Henrietta, Heintja.

Harriet would be adorable, with the nn Hattie.

I think it's cute. It's traditionally been a nickname for Harriet, I believe. I really don't like Harriet, though.

It's a very sweet name! I'd definitely use it as a nickname for Harriet, another darling name. It would be a nice name to use to honour your great-grandmother.
