[Opinions] Kendra
Kendra is near the top of my list for girls, but I noticed that it usually does badly or so-so on the polls. So, I was wondering what people's opinions are about Kendra. Associations, likes, dislikes, post 'em all here.

I really like Kendra, it's high up in the 'maybe' list for me. A lot of people don't like it, but that's ok, I don't want a common name for my girl anyway.

I love Kendra...I don't understand the bad associations myself. I've met two Kendra's in my life. They're both nice and pretty cool.

It's kind of cute, but has a slightly dated sound to it and it reminds me of the playboy bunny. It's not bad without that image though.

I like it. I don't know if I like it enough to use, but I think it's nice.

It immediately reminds me of the TV show: Girls Next Door.
I don't care for this name much.

I like it. It's strong yet pretty. The only Kendra I've known was an African-American girl, so I tend to think of it as an African-American name, but I don't know if that's actually true. But being that that's the only Kendra I've known, that's my association.

It was one of the names my dad dropped into the pool for me, and the one I'm most glad didn't win. 'dra' is one of the ugliest letter/sound sequences there is, IMO (although oddly I don't mind it is Cassandra), and coupled with 'ken' (as in doll), just makes it a big fat no for me. I think it sounds dorky and wet behind the ears.

It's not my favorite name in the world, but it's the name of my best friend so I suppose I like it enough.

First time I had ever seen this name was in Harry Potter, so i always think of that first..I think its nice :) just a bit "heavy".

The pastor of our church for 20 years had a daughter named Kendra. I think it's a nice name but it's not on the top of my list. I don't have any real objections to the name though and it makes me think of a tall girl with long dark hair.

I personally don't like it. Ken- is so masculine to me, that's why (well, one of the reasons) I can't stand McKenna / Mackenzie and variants on little girls. Kendra is certainly better than McKenna but to me the -dra ending doesn't soften the name at all. Plus it seems hugely dated to the 80s and I think of that "girlfriend" of Hugh Hefner who is super super tacky. That's not a good association to have...

I've had two students named Kendra. The name is nice and refreshing, in my opinion.

No offense but sounds like the name of a cheerleader in an 80's movie. My mom wanted to name me this. Thank goodness she didn't. I think this name is dated to the extreme.
