[Opinions] Leopold

Leopold is a touch pretentious, but the nn Leo makes it far more approachable. I don't care for Poldi at all. Two names that I think are similar to Leopold (more in feel, than in sound) are Conrad and Eleanora.
I like both Edmund Leopold and Henry Leopold. Imo, pretention is not an issue in middle names.

I love Leopold and like the nickname Leo for it. I dislike Poldi.
I don't think it's pretentious.
Henry Leopold is one of my favorite Henry combos - and one of my favorite Leopold combos.
Some names of similar style: Adele, Beatrice, Edwina, Eleanor, Eloise, Georgiana, Georgina, Lillian, Margaret, Winifred, Arthur, Charles, Frederick, Rupert, Theodore.

I like Leopold. I wouldn't say it sounds too pretentious, but it definitely sounds regal. Like Leopold in Kate and Leopold-- it makes me think of a guy like that. I think in an English speaking place, Leo would be a better nn to use than Poldi, although Poldi is nice.
Names I think have a similar feel to Leopold are Roland, Wilhelm, Friedrich, Augustin, Boniface, Theodoric, Richard, Henry, Thomas, Edward. Holy cow, Leopold and Roland would be awesome for brothers!

I don't know why I dislike Leopold so much. I adore Leo, Leonardo and Leonidas (not so much Leon or Leonard). I guess it's the 'pold' part of the name though I'm not sure why. Come to think of it, I do find Leopold more stuffy than the other forms I mentioned.
Re: Edmund or Henry, I adore both. They work equally well with Leopold. I'd have to give the edge to Henry.
