[Opinions] Meredith, Juliet and Jewel
Which do you like best?Meredith Juliet
Meredith Jewel
Meredith Cait
Meredith Leigh
Juliet Elizabeth-Good reasons for each name:-I love Meredith, dh is so-so but ok with it...it has meaning due to its meaning and a place I saw it.-Jewel - I've seen it a few times and think it's so pretty, but am too afraid to use it as a first name. I think of the singer Jewel, who was popular when I was in college, and as a mn I just think it's so magical and pretty.-Cait would be to tie into ds's Irish name, Connor. It's one of my favorite Irish names.-Leigh is my mom's and my middle name. While I feel compelled to use it, there are just so many other names I like better.-Dh really likes Juliet. I like it due to its association with Shakespeare and the type of poetry/stories I like, which I call romantic tradgedies...Arthurian legend, poem Lady of Shalott, Highwayman, etc.-Elizabeth I just love but not as much for a first name...my mom's first name, Bettina and her mother's name, Betty are both derived from this. Thanks ~ Krista (undergoing fertility treatments) - a boy will be Aidan Lee

I like Juliet Elizabeth. Very lovely. I'm just not a fan of Meredith.

Meredith is a male name to me (it's still exclusively male in Wales), so I only really like Juliet Elizabeth. But if I put away my feelings on Meredith's gender (that sounds so wrong...) and focus solely on flow, I like:
Meredith Jewel
Meredith LeighBut then again, Leigh sounds far too masculine with the already "unisex" Meredith to me for a girl.Meredith Julie flows much better to me than Meredith Juliet (or, for that matter, Meredith Julia or Meredith Juliana). Meredith Juliet has 3-3 syllable pattern which I find long-sounding and unattractive.

I love Juliet!! It's my #1 name for a girl right now. I love Juliet Elizabeth and prefer Elisabeth, but I love the family significance it has for you.

Meredith Leigh and Juliette Elizabeth (with that spelling of Juliette only) both get my vote. Very pretty. :)

Juliet Elizabeth is really nice, or Meredith Jewel. I love Jewel's music, even though no-one in the UK seems to have heard of her except me and my sisters. How about Juliet Cait? I think that's quite nice.

I would use Leigh no matter what. Family names are important imo.I would suggest:Meredith Leigh or Juliet Leigh. Also possibly Cait Leigh, or Caitlin Leigh, Caitria Leigh, or Caitriona Leigh with the nickname Cait.

I love the name Juliet Elizabeth! It's so pretty! And you know if you named your daughter Juliet a nickname could be Jewel, just a thought. :)Meredith? What happened to Brigid? Oh, well. :(I like Juliet the best, Meredith just sounds rather old-ladyish to me. *Sorry!*

can't imagine saying it...I think I like it written better than said. Hubby doesn't like it that much. But it's still one of my favs...just don't think it's going to happen.

Oy! Talk about having similar tastes, I guess. When I replied earlier about the middle names, I didn't know it was you who was considering Brigid a while ago. The baby I'm carrying whose middle name will be Elizabeth? Her first name is going to be Brigit. :)

That's too bad about Brigid! Juliet is beautiful though! nt-

Well, I'm a bit partial. My first daughter's middle name is Jewel, but it's after my grandfather. People always comment that it's a very pretty middle name, and since it has a special meaning to it, I don't care when people don't like it. :)
The kiddo I'm carrying now will have Elizabeth as a middle name after hubby's grandmother. Like you, I love the name- but not for a first name. As a middle name, it's beautiful and can really go with anything.
Of course, I also think Leigh is a great middle name and goes really well with Meredith, if you're inclined to keep the middle name tradition going.

I like Meredith Jewel best, I think. I do like Meredith--I've met some incredibly cool girls by that name--especially with the nickname Merry. Jewel is gorgeous and has history beyond the singer; as a middle name, it's not too overpoweringly reminiscent of her.Cait is fine, though I'd nevr use it--same with Leigh and Elizabeth. I don't like Juliet at all--honestly, I don't see why everyone's all over it at the moment. I do like Julia, Julianne, and Juli(e), though.Array
