Why are months inherently unisex? Consider April, May, and June. They have long histories of use on girls and would be as weird as Eleanor or Sarah on a boy, imo. August has had similar usage for boys and, as CN said, is strictly a male name and not a month in some places.
I suppose I can see the argument for months like October or November, where the month has very scant history as a given name, but some months seem be strongly feminine or masculine.
