August and Kristina have now more or less retired from the hard farm work and Nils and his wife Emma are now running the farm. Wilhelm and Alice still have their four children Wilhelm, Gustav, Gunilla and Albert. With the end of the Great Depression things are looking much better for the family. Their farm is going very well and Wilhelm might even be able to buy more land.Johan and Mary and their four daughters are still living on their farm but the years of the Great Depression have taken its toll. Johan are deep in debt but he hopes he will be able to pay back now the economic situation of the country is better. His wife and children don't know about the debt and Johan is not planning on telling them.Karl and Kerstin have welcomed two sons; Oscar and Felix and they now have five children, Victor, Hugo, Clara, Oscar and Felix. After leaving the city during the Great Depression they lived with Karl's parents and brother Nils and his family. It was at times very crowded and after considering buying a farm and joining the family in the agriculture business they are now instead settling down in a small village. Kerstin will work as a secretary for the only bank office in the area but Karl is still looking for work. He is considering joining the army.Sara and James have welcomed a son, Benjamin. He was a surprise baby. After Lillian (17) and Esaias (11) it seemed like they would not have anymore children. Nils, Emma and their three children Tord, Isabella and Ingegerd are running the farm now and things are gong very well. It is one of the biggest farms in the area. Nils and Emma would have wanted more children by now but they hope that in the next few years they will have at least on more son or daugter.Ingrid and her daughter Lovisa, 14, do not live in the attic in the farm anymore. They moved in to town where Ingrid works as a nurse. She found that the doctor was very open-minded and did not judge her for having a daughter out of wedlock. He is a good friend and Ingrid is enjoying her life for the first time in many years. Twins Oscar and Gustav have finished building their houses on the jointly own land. They share the farm work and the barns and fields but are happy to have a house each.
Oscar and his wife Katinka have two children, Sophia and Henning. Gustav and Lillemor's family has grown faster then they expected and they now have four sons, none over the age of four, Albin, Edvin, Martin and Augustin.Erik is still in Sweden. He has become a very skilled fraudster. Pretending to be a rich American looking for investments in a big project he soon found himself with more money than ever before. He used them well and bough expensive suits and took care of his looks. He watched other rich people and learned how to act. But nothing lasts forever. Erik soon had to leave Gothenburg because he was becoming too well-known. He went to Stockholm and continued the fruad but after only a few months he was arrested and sentenced to two years of penal servitude in prison. He has one year left before he is a free man again.Maria and her wealthy husband John now have three children; Sebstianna, John and Georgina. Maria lives a care free life far form her family. She misses them but realises that her life is so different from theirs that they might not have much in common anymore.Margareta, the youngest of the Karlsson children is now married to Karl-Erik. He's from a Swedish immigrant family but is very Americanised. He has even changed the spelling of his last name, Samuelsson to Samuleson in order to become more American. They have one daughter, Karolina.
