Help[Facts] Stiva
In "Anna Karenina" it says that this is a nickname for Stepan. Know anything about this? Can't find it here.

No knowledge, but I can see that it would make sense, give or take a sound change or two. Stepan = Stephen = Steve in English, and possibly Stiva in Russian, where the -a ending is usual for male diminutives.
