[Facts] Wanted: People With Welsh Language Knowlege
Once again, my plot bunny has struck; I've come up a main character, I've found a name that fits her perfectly, and I even love the way it's spelled. But I don't know how it's pronounced. Aderyn. I would love it if someone helped me with the pronounciation. Pretty please with sugar on top?Hannah Brielle:

I don't have much welsh knowledge, but I reckon it's pronounced how it looks (i.e. ADD-eh-rin). The 'yn' is pronounced like 'in', as in Gwyn or Bryn, and considering it is a modern invention, it is probably going to be Anglicised.

Ad-erin. With the stress on the "e". You do know that it means "bird", I suppose?

http://www.cs.cf.ac.uk/fun/welsh/Lesson01.htmlI'm afraid I can't be much help, as I've let my Welsh studies fall by the way-side, but that site is great for pronunciations. It has audio files.
