[Opinions] Mary and Victoria
I fell in love with these two names. What do you think of them?
Is Mary too religious sounding or boring? Is it too common? How many Marys of which age do you know?
Is Victoria too popular at the moment? Would it be hard to explain that she is not Vicky or Tori but Victoria? How many Victorias do you know and do they go by their full name?
What do you think of Estella Jane, Phoebe Cosette and Mary Victoria for sisters?

I love Victoria. Then again, it's my middle dd's name. If you tell people your dd's name is Victoria, they'll call her Victoria. In fact, I know a Victoria without a nn. My Victoria goes by her mn. I haven't known that many Victorias at all.
Re: Mary, I've been really loving this lately. Besides having a late aunt named Mary and knowing several adults and contemporaries throughout my life with the name, the only two "young" Marys I know are 18 (Mary Frances, Mary Ellen). I think Mary transcends religion for most people.
I like Estella and Mary together but not Phoebe in the mix.

Mary is sweet. I can appreciate it and I want to like it, but it always strikes me as a bit too plain. A worn-out faded old lady pink in my mind. It's just an image I can't shake. I know three Mary's and one Mary-Beth. Only one is anywhere close to my age group. I think she's 16 or 17. The others are in their late fifties, or around there. So around it's always refreshing to see newborns named Mary from where I stand. I live near Philadephia though, so I don't know how popular it is around other places. I find it's popular among religious parents, especially Catholics, but it doesn't scream biblical like some names.
Victoria never gets old, a timelessly beautiful and somewhat sexy name = ). Victoria's Secret, Posh Spice, and Victoria Beckham keep those images going strong in people's minds I suppose. Queen Victoria adds to the elegance. I think of an elegant beautiful, slightly seductive woman, but the name is traditional enough that it has a down to earth approachability too. I know several Victorias my age. Some go by Tori, so go by Victoria, but everyone knows not to call a Victoria, Tori or a Tori, Victoria, It's a dark place that you don't want to see. I guess because the names have two totally different feels. I entertained the thought of Viktoria, still an option, and I came up the nns Vixie, Vee, Vita, and Vikki. If I used it, I think I would use Vixie as a childhood nickname, and maybe she would use Vee occasionally among her friends as she got older, but most of the time, I would call her Viktoria.

I love Mary, Victoria is ok, just not my style. I dislike Mary and Victoria as sisters, but Mary Victoria is a lovely combo.
I know one Mary, and she's four, it's just lovely, not too religious sounding in the least little bit. I don't know one adult Mary...huh weird. It's so refreshing though!
I know three Victorias, one in her late twenties who goes by Tori, one that's 20 who goes by Victoria, and one in her twenties who actually goes by Janie or Vicky-Jane most of the times(her full name is Victoria Jane) I don't think it would be that hard to just use Victoria, not Vicky and Tori.
I love your three combos as sisters, sooooo gorgeous!

I love both of these names!
I would like to use Mary someday, but I don't like it as a middle name and I have too many other favorite first names.
Victoria doesn't seem like it's becoming too popular where I live. I only know one Viktoria and she goes by Tori.
If I used Victoria I would NEVER use the nicknames Vicky or Tori but always Victoria.
Your 3 combos sound nice. I like Mary Victoria the best, but Estella Jane and Phoebe Cosette flow well and are very pretty.

Love Victoria... not so fond of Mary (or any other name that means bitter)... Most of the Marys I know are older...
It doesn't seem overdone at the moment to me.
If you insist on Victoria and never call her Vicki or Tori, others are more likely to follow your lead and get used to it. However, when she gets older, she may decide to go by a nn, but she might decide she likes Victoria better since it's such a pretty name.
Estella Jane is nice
Phoebe Cosette- so-so
Mary Victoria- I'd replace Mary with something else... Victoria May woud be ok.

It's believed to have maybe come from Mara, which means bitter, so it's one of the more likely possibilities, unfortunately.
I'm not a fan of Mary (or Marija, Maria, etc.), they are very common and Mary especially seems dated to me.
I love Victoria (prefer Viktoria), I've met 3 or 4 and they have all been in their 20s or younger and they all go by their full name (but then I live in Croatia and we're not 'nickname obsessed' and we consider it rude to call people by anything other than what they've introduced themselves as).

I adore both Mary and Victoria and would totally use them. I know a bunch of Victorias, but no Mary, only a Maria that goes by Mary. I really like Estella Jane and Mary Victoria. Those combos are great, especially because Jane and Mary tend to get so little love! ;( Phoebe Cosette doesn't seem to fit in for some reason. I also dislike both names.

Mary is one of the most common names in the world, so it really doesn't make an impression with me. I've met so many of them, the name has become bland and uninteresting.
Victoria is better, but everyone will call her Vicky. You could correct that, but I don't know how much that would bother you.
Estella Jane is a cute combo, but I don't care for Phoebe Cosette or Mary Victoria, though I like Phoebe and Victoria individually.
