[Opinions] Re: Michele

If it's Italian and pronounced mee-KEH-le it's fine. If you want it pronounced mee-SHELL, spell it Michel (the French way). If you live in the US people will always assume he was a she.

I like it said either way doesn't matter since it's only a middle name :).
My friend her name is Michele and says it "mee-shell" even though it's incorrect, lol. Thing is I say meh-shell, not "mee".
thanks for the french version too, but I prefer the "e" at the end it looks incomplete without it for me.

The reason it would look incomplete to you without the e is you're prob'ly only used to seeing the girls' version 'cause you live in a rather non-French area where Michele/Michelle is common and Michel isn't... much like we'll often use Daniele/Danielle as a girls' name and pronounce it that way, but the French also pronounce Daniel that way on a boy. We're just not used to it if we don't have a lot of French around us.
Please also take into consideration your son's situation of always having to explain the matter if you inflict him with the girls' spelling.

It would be his middle name, and it's a legit boy's name I don't think he'd have to really explain anything, but if he had to he could just say "It's the Italian version of Michael".
ETA: I do agree with you about probably since Michelle is more common here I'm used to the "e". :o)

mee-SHELL would be correct for Michele (French, female) but it would need the accent on the E, Michèle.
ah ok I got you :)
