I'm laughing so hard hereI can't even sing. I start but after a couple words I get to spluttering and have to stop.Havana Rex: Some exotic breed of cat? Brown with curly fur?Maximillian Alfie: Alfie?! ALFIE!!! That "name" just kills me. Especially paired with that mouthful Maximillian.Mungo: Mungo Bungo, Oingo Boingo.Gilbert Rupert Thomas: I thought the last name would be an "ert" name too.Algernon: Always sounded like a support group for people with allergies.Sebastian Were: Shouldn't that be Sebastian Was?Coco Rose: The Sexy Burlesque Queen from Tokyo?Joy Pixie: Now I'll have a weird, irritating elfin giggle in my head all night.Lettice Mimi Hespa: Let us Mimi Hespa?Artemis Blossom: And the Case of the Scabby Scarecrow?Soniaette: To make Sonia feminine.Clementine Maple: You get your tangy citrus taste plus the taste of warm Vermont maple syrup.Nixon Jeannine: No. Jeannine is fine. Nix on Nixon.hebe: And the Jeebies.Osiris: That's like naming a boy Diana.

Diana on a boy...My roommate is obsessed with Artemis on a boy. Now THAT'S Diana on a boy!And Re: Algernon... I think you finally figured out for me what Algernon is! I had been trying for ages to figure what that sounded like. :-D

Artemis on a boyis not so strange to me. I am a big Sailor Moon dorkus, though, and the first time I'd heard the name was on a male cat.Could that have been an influence on your roommate's "obsession"?

Nope. She's more a Disney channel girl. She's actively ruining the name Hannah for me; every time I say it, she follows it up with Montana (grrr!).

GIRLS
Osiris A. -- Well, if this was on a boy, I could understand it, but it's like my roomie wanting to name her boy Artemis.Avery Reynolds -- Of COURSE we didn't want a boy. It's all in your head.Santa Charlotte Elizabeth -- I don't care if there is a Saint Charlotte Elizabeth somewhere; this is going to be Santa Claus until she dies.Honor S.
Honor Elizabeth
Honor Wilkinson
Honor Isabel -- collectively, these are just annoyingThomasina Margaret Choella -- one of the most awkward and bulky names I've seen in a long time.Nixon Jeannine -- bad enough namesake for a boyClementine Maple -- sounds like a fall-themed scented candle.Poppy Islay -- Poppy Is Late. By Two Weeks. Labor Hurt.Wren Otterley -- Stuck in the 60sLettice Mimi Hespa -- gosh, where to start? The vegetable, the trashy stripper nickname, or the grossly archaic third name that sounds like a prescription drug?Divinety G. -- Apparently there wasn't enough divine intervention when it came to spelling.Skye Lily -- No! It's a WATER lily. I understand that both are blue, but it's really in the pond!Coco Rose -- there's a cereal here called Coco Roos.

I knew someone named Colby! Except, he was a boy and he spelled it with a y, not an ie. Anyhoo. Really cool kid. He reminded me of Harold from Harold and Maude. But without the constant suicide attempts.Girls:
*Ursula-I LOVE the name Ursula. Ursula Isabel is a beautiful combo. There really should be more Ursulas in this world.
*Poppy-What is it with all of the Poppys? It's such a childish name, how are those girls ever going to grow up? And people complain about Candy, Honey, and Cherry . . .
*Lettice-People. If this is going to get popular, it's Lettuce.
*Kitty Mary-BWAHAHAHAHA!! Aha . . . ha . . . I can just imagine it.
*Tigerlily-is actually a pretty cool name. She could grow up a tomboy and people would call her Tiger! Or she could grow up super girlie and everyone would call her Lily! So versatile!
*Cala-is awesome. I'd like to see some Kali's soon, too.Boys:
*Theo Paris-If pronounced the French way, then this is an awesome name. Tay-o Pah-ree . . . it's so cool.
*Oliver Eden-Don't really like Eden on a boy, but this combo works for me. Oliver is a great name, anyway.
*Willoughby-What is it with this name? It's really, really ugly. What other nickname are you going to get out of it besides Will? I'd probably start calling this kid "Oughby" though.
*Ruairi Mason Carew-is actually kind of cool. I mean, the first name might be a bit weird, but as a whole, the name works perfectly.
*German-He'd better be German.

Oughby = Obi!I agree, Willoughby is hideously pretentious. I don't understand its sudden use. Ick.
