Message: "Verlie?" - Behind the Name

There is an elderly woman in our 4x4 club whose name is Verlie. I am not sure if it short for something or a stand alone name... but strangely I like it!

What do you think of Verlie, and can you think of any names that it might be a nn for?

I know a Verlie, too. Not short for anything. Her siblings are Vivian, Valoris, Virgil, Veronica and Violet. :)

I suppose it could work as a Beverly nn.

Possibly Vera, Verena, Verity, Verna, Veronica? All very nice names, but I'm not sure any of them really work with the nn. Anything's possible though.

Seeing it written down made me think verile --> virile.
