Well, then, your husband probably heard it as one of the references to Obama and didn't realize that it has never been a name with any history of real use to speak of. :)

I have actually heard this used as a name -- a former teacher's son -- and apparently it was a name that had been in use for quite some time in his wife's family. The teacher was a bit eccentric, and I greatly enjoyed his class.
