[Opinions] Lily
Lily has been growing on me lately (no pun intended). I used to think the name was soft and generic with no presence, but I'm starting to like it.
My question is, do you think it will become even more popular than it is now? Currently it's at #27, up from #33 last year. I don't really have a huge problem with popular names, but I usually like to avoid the top twenty (Sophia being an exception).
Also, what do you think of flower names in general? Too frilly, or kind of charming in their own way?

Only in the top 27? Where do you live? In BC it's very high (top 20) last year.
If you choose to actually use the name, I'd recommend pairing it with something less overdone or something that can be used as a double name.
As for flower names in general, it really depends on the child and the flower. Lily seems like a calm and quiet name (opposite of say "Brianna") while Jasmine seems a little perkier, while not being excessively so. Amaryllis seems like a strong flower name while Violet may be another quiet one... and Daisy... kind of a sunny, happy name.

1. Yes, I think it will gain in popularity.
2. I like a lot of flower names. Lily is one of them I like.

I love flower names.
I think Lily will become more popular.

Lily is one of the charming ones. I like it. The only flower name I don't like for some reason is Daisy...but Violet, Rose, Lily, Iris...all lovely.
I think Lily may be my daughters middle name - because I like it and it was my nanas name. So yes, I like it. :) but too common as a fn for me.
I like it, but it's already far too popular, and I think it will become even more so.
I do like flower names at the moment, especially some of the more unusual ones, but I think they will become quite dated again in coming years.

I think Lily is really pretty, and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't Lily Potter's fault. I used to think it was just another generic popular name, but her character made me take notice of it a bit more, and now I think it's light and sweet. Plus I love the combo Lily Catherine.
I think it will become more popular, but I don't think it will break the Top 10 ever. But who knows.
The only flower name I don't see as frilly is Rose. It's too deep and serious. Lily and Violet are semi-frilly. I think Daisy and Petunia are pretty frilly though. And any not really traditional flower name can be a bit over-the-top. Like Marigold, Chrysanthemum, or Zinnia.

I'm so tired of Lily. I find it cutesy and flimsy.
I think it is going to get more popular, with all the Lillys, Lilians, Lillians, Lilianas and Lillianas, there's already too many little Lilys around.

I like Lily. It's one of my favorite names. It's coming popular now.
