[Opinions] Re: Amanda
in reply to a message by Lily8
When I think of Amanda in the 19th Century sense, I really like it. I think it would be nice if paired with other older or traditional named siblings. I also think it makes a nice middle name. I really like Katherine Amanda.I think it might rise again, or at least never fall too far because it is a classic name.I don't really think it's dated. Although I know a ton of Amandas my age (early 20s). I have 7 facebook friends named Amanda, which is second only to Sarah. :) I only know one who goes by Mandy though, and she's been trying to go by Amanda instead. It's possible that people would call an Amanda Mandy, but I don't think it's as inevitable as like a Thomas being called Tom. I've never heard of Amy as a nn for Amanda. It's kind of neat, but I just prefer straight Amanda. Ammy would be a cool nn though.I don't ever heard "a man, duh" because the emphasis is on "man," not "duh."Amandine is kind of interesting, but I don't like it as much. I've never heard of anyone with that name.
