[Opinions] Van
I've been watching the show Reba and the name Van has been puzzling me for some time. Where is it from, is it a nn or not, etc.?
And then today it dawns on me! It could be a nn for Donovan, duh.
So what do you think of Donovan, nn Van?
And are there any other names that Van can be a nickname for? The board says that it can be a nn for Ivan, but I've never seen it before.

(You might have to copy and paste the link because it likes to leave off the last * which alters the search results)
Anyway, I like Evander nn Van the most.
Donovan nn Van feels a little bit silly to me.
And truly, I think Van on it's own is just fine :D

Van looks too simplistic.
I dislike Van as a nn for Donovan, just because the "van" syllable would be pronounced differently as part of the full name and as the nn. I'm not crazy about Van as a nn for Ivan, for the same reason.
I guess I would like it as a nn for Vance. Or if you named your kid Van Buren or something. Or, on a different note, Van Halen. Lol.
Truly, though, I don't think it needs to be a nn. I think it's sporting as a full name.
