Meh. I like ASS-ah, but there's the obvious problem with it having "ass" right in there. AY-sah sounds whiney and cutesy, not to mention vaguely feminine. I don't hate it, but I don't really like it either.

Never heard of ASS-ah before, but you're right, there is kind of an obvious overtone with that.
