[Opinions] Steven/Stephen
To be honest, I really dislike this name. It's one of my least-liked old, established, classic names ever, along with David. I associate it with nerdiness, because I knew an extremely geeky, nerdy Steven, and two other Stevens who were borderline nerdy and geeky. Even without that association, however, I think I would dislike it, just based upon the way it sounds. But of the two spellings, I much prefer Stephen. Here in the U.S., it seems Steven is much more common.Edited to add: I just thought of another very geeky, nerdy Steven I knew in high school, just as bad as the first Steven I mentioned. Make that two very nerdy Stevens and two borderline Stevens. No wonder I can't get the nerd image out of my head.Do you like Steven/Stephen? And which spelling do you prefer?

I prefer Stephen being that it is really the established biblical spelling. nt  ·  I_Love_Jesus  ·  8/20/2008, 11:26 AM
