Help[Opinions] WDYTO Somerset?
For a boy, that is. For me, it has both hippie-ish connotations (Sommer = Summer in German; it sounds like sunset) as well as aristocratic connotations (from the author).

Somerset's a county in my former home state, NJ. Feels odd but better on a boy than a girl. I'd use it as a middle if I didn't think 'county' immediately after hearing it!

However, there's a Somerset mall a few cities away from me, and it's all really expensive and I really don't like going there. It's the first connection for me.

I...don't like it. It sounds pretentious to me, like the parents wanted to name their kid Summer but opted for this instead.

I think it' kid of pretentious asa first name, even if it's a family name. Just really stuffy and wannabe-aristocrat.
