[Opinions] Marshall
Does anyone know any one named marshall, do they have any nicknames, what sort of person does this name portray?

Yes, I know one.
He's about 20, and is and was rather a goober all his life; but I think that it was inevitable for him and not the name that determined it.
A famous one is Marshall Mathers.
And for some reason, I thought of "We are marshall" when I saw your post title. Probably a TV show I've heard of, but certainly never saw.
It's an odd name to me because it makes me think of a sheriff. And our next door neighbors when I was young had a little moppish looking dog named Marshall, so I also think of that.

My grandfather was Marshall. He died at 92 in 2006, almost exactly a year before my daughter was born.
I was not aware of any nicknames. I think people just called him Marshall. He didn't say much. As a kid I remember him chewing on toothpicks and humming, hmmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm.
Shortly before and after he died (it wasn't really a surprise since he was going downhill; we were concerned he wasn't going to make it through the 2005 holiday season), I learned more about who he was and he was actually quite resilient, but never acted tough. He lived a simple life. He was a blue color guy who worked as a machinist until the early 80's. He took his lunch to work everyday in a tin lunch box. He was buried in the only suite he owned, the same suite he wore to my parents' wedding over 30 years prior.
So I think of my grandfather of course who I consider to be a quiet person who wasn‘t shallow, never complained and had his priorities were in tact.

I knew one Marshall in high school, and he was my age so the name doesn't sound too old or too young to me, but rather just right:)
Marshall doesn't go by any nicknames, that I know of. Then again, I didn't know him that well. The name makes me think of a highly intelligent, handsome, friendly guy who's just really considerate and gets along with everyone. I like it - it gives me good vibes :)

The only Marshall I know of is Eminem.
Nicknames could be Marsh, Marshy, or Mash. Mash sounds like something a baby would say.
