[Opinions] Spencer
I heard a woman in the bank call her child Spencer the other day. I turned around, expecting it to be a boy, but nope-it was a girl. Opinions, thoughts? Personally, I think its horrible.

I've never personally met a girl named Spencer, but I know "of" a couple (celebs Noelle Beck and Kelsey Grammer both have dd's named Spencer). I think it's ok, but somewhat dated, on a boy, but really, really bad on a girl.
OT, but Kelsey Grammer also has a daughter named Mason. Noelle Beck also has a daughter named Forrest. :-/

Only like it for a boy.
:)
:)
I like it for a boy, but I don't care for it for a girl.
This happened to me too with the exact same name. I was in a mall, and a mother referred to her girl as Spencer as well.
At least she was somewhat ahead of the times...the girl was a teenager...but still.
I wonder why these people can't reserve these names for a boy, or at least stick it in as a middle name. At least names like Mackenzie and Madison are considered more acceptable on girls now. Even though it is a bit of a shame because they would make lovely boys' names.

I know a girl Spencer.
And you know what's worse? Her last name is Dean. =P

Other unisex names that I can think of
Dallas
Hayden
Dakota
Raeleigh/ Raylee- these are in my extended family. My sister had her daughter Raelynn (doe meadow, Ray is a family name). A month or two later, a second cousin of ours named his girl Raeleigh (I think that's how they spell it). Two years later at the family reunion, another slightly more distant relative named her son Raylee. He's going to hate high school and reunions.

Raylee's pretty feminine to me...poor kid
I agree, especially with two girls with the same name in the family tree that he'll see in high school when they get therer (all live in the same district) and at the family reunion every other year. He's going to hate his parents for that.
