Oh, I think it's pretty. I love "Sol-" names, and a lot of "-dad" names appeal to me as well, so Soledad is like the perfect combination. My only problem lies with the bleakness (excellent description) of the name's meaning. I'm not sure I could use it for that reason alone. Then again, Soledad means nothing in English so I guess it wouldn't be such a huge deal.
