[Facts] Ytol
Ytol was my mother's given name in 1911. She has no idea where the name came from and her mother was so close=mouthed that she has no
idea of her own history. She was born in the Defiance, Ohio area. She was raised by a couple in Napolean by the name of Nell Corright Needham. My mother's mom was Helen Lucell Riodan. Any help would be appreciated. My mom is 92 years old she is still searching for any link. Please e-mail me even if it is only with the meaning of the name Ytol.

Well, my search brings up formulas like this:xtol = tolerance (closeness of fit) for x coordinates. Ytol = tolerance for y coordinates. Was your grandmother mathematician?

Search brings up...what looks like Finnish sites. Might be a place name?

It`s not a place in Finland. Those sites you mentioned were the home pages of some kind of institute named YTOL.

There's a couple of institutes, but ....there seems to be something else as well. Are you a Finnish speaker, Mari?

Yes I am.Almost all of them (sites) have something to do with that institute but this is what else I found:Youth Teams of Our Lady (YTOL) is an international youth movement founded on the spirituality of passage: from a shallow understanding of faith to a meaningful relationship with Jesus. (okay...)I think that Ytol might be French or Russian if that helps in any way. It certainly isn`t Finnish.
