[Games] Re: MS's Superhero Congrats #4
in reply to a message by MS
After the incident involving the very loud Blair and Morana's phone, things were kind of tense between her and Charles. Not that she would ever admit that she had any feelings for him - of course she didn't! - but it somehow got to her. He also seemed cold. One night she was doing what she didn't like to call "patrolling" the park (it seemed so Buffy-ish), thinking about the whole thing. She saw Charles as her boss, and her partner in their project - and she found him freaking annoying! The man was just too cocky. Of course, he *had* reasons for it... not that she had never had less proper thoughts about him, but those were just fantasies. Right? She was walking, absent-minded, when a noise called her attention. It was some sort of rufling in the bushes and muffled moans. She approached and found a guy holding a girl down on the floor and covering her mouth. She kicked the guy as hard as she could (she had been taking lessons from Chuck) and the first chance she got she grabbed him and temporarily paralized him. She went to take care of the girl but she had already ran. When Morana as getting back to the trail someone jumped at her. The person pinned her hands behind her back and made her fall to the floor. She tried as hard as she could to free herself but she couldn't. She wasn't able to actually touch the person, so she knew she was in trouble. Her power was much like the sense of touch - supposedly it works with contact in any part of her body, but it must be with her skin, and it requires much effort from her if not with her hands. But suddenly police sirens were heard and whoever was pinning her down let go. She didn't want to be there for the police to find them (she avoided them as much as she could). So she started running. When she thought it was safe to take a breath, she realized she was very close to Charles's building. She also realized someone was still chasing her - it probably was the person who attacked her in the first place. So, without thinking much, she started running again, to his building. The doorman recognized her and let her in, not before asking her in everything was alright (she could imagine the state she was in). She told him some psycho was chasing her and got into the elevator, going up to Charles's floor.---Charles rubbed his eyes, tired of looking at the computer screen. He laid back and his mind wandered to his more than bossy secretary. Much to his dismay, it had been happening a lot those days. That's when he heard a loud thump coming from his door.He opened it and found Morana sitting on the floor, against the wall, just by his door."Oh... you heard that?""It's kind of hard not to hear when someone's trying to knock my door down.""You're so exaggerated!" She pulled herself up and he stood back to let her in.Now that he looked at her in the light, she looked awful. She was covered in dust and there was a cut on her cheek."What happened to you?""Took out crook, crook forgot to mention his friend.""You're so careless. One of these days you'll..." He disappeared into the bathroom while she took her dusty jacket and sat on his couch."...and I won't be there to save you." He brought alcohol to clean her cut."Thanks, mom." She said as he did it himself. After much protest, he was finally done."I just don't want you to get hurt." He said before he could think about it."Could it be that you're actually worried about me?"That's when they realized how close their faces were. And in just a few seconds, they got much closer. But Charles pulled away."We shouldn't do this...""Shut up, Chuck!" Morana said, before kissing him again. And that time he didn't pull away. And so they spent the night together. In the morning though, Charles woke up as she was getting dressed."You're right. This was a mistake."And she left, with a very confused and still somewhat sleepy Charles on the bed.Their relationship got even worse after that - they would only talk business. Until one day Morana showed up at his place after work hours."Can we talk?"That's when she dropped the bomb on him - she was pregnant. At first he was so shocked he didn't know what to say. In his mind there were no doubts the child was his, and after that first moment he said he'd take full responsibility. For some reason, that expression sounded so formal that the both of them burst out laughing. Still laughing, she said she didn't need anything from him, just wanted to let him know. They started arguing and ended up in his room once more. During the pregnancy, Morana always had that "I-don't-need-you" attitude, but he could tell she felt grateful of his support. An idea started to form in his mind, but he only decided he would act on it when she was about seven months pregnant. He was driving her home and she was complaining about something, so distracted she didn't even notice they were going the wrong way, when he pulled over and got out of the car. She shut up and watched him go around the car and open her door."What... Where are we?" She asked. He didn't bother answer, he just picked up her hand and guided her into a building. Before they entered a room, he said, "Close your eyes."Her expression read, "If this is a trick I'm going to give the worst case of measles you've ever seen." But when she opened her eyes she found herself in an indoor greenhouse with flowers of all kinds and colours surrounding her. It was beautiful."What-" Charles cut her."Marry me."They stood there looking at each other for a while."Is that an order?" Morana finally asked."Well, you are my secretary." he said, smirking."I'm your assistant," she stressed the word "assistant", "and I'm not getting married just because of the baby.""It's not about the baby," he said. "It's about us. I love you. And I know you have feelings for me too.""You are so conceited!"He stared at her with puppy eyes and her heart melt. She couldn't say no.Two months after that she gave birth to Alexander Charles Krieg. Alexander means "defender of men", and they thought that would be a good meaning. They don't know if Alex has powers like them, though. And two months after he was born, they had a very simple and intimate wedding. Being married didn't change their relationship - for Morana, Chuck is still the same cocky prick; for Charles, his former assistant/secretary is still the same annoying and loud confrontation. But they can't live without each other - and Alex is the light in their lives.(OMG. I couldn't help myself, but I think I might have exaggerated this time. :P Oh well! Alexander is going to have Charles's power. Here's the family so far)DH: Charles Tollak Krieg (27 - natural weapons)
DW: Morana Zoe Yarrow (25 - biological manipulation)
DS: Alexander Charles "Alex" Krieg (nb - natural weapons)
