I suppose you need to do both. Your character is pyrokinetic. As far as your SO either he/she can have the same power as you or give me a letter and I'll give him a power too :)

When running out of the house, Amber put her hands up in front of her face and the fire immediately settled down. Within five minutes the fire had vanished completely and Amber had realised that she had this special superpower.

Origin: Rusty comes from a family of superheros, so it wasn't really a suprise when he inherited his grandfathers ability of leaping. Rusty has learned to use his unusual ability for good and not evil, and he is now training to be in the police force. Many people know of his ability and he is not afraid to show people.
